Evolving exothemic materials

THERMSTCK Logo

THERMSTCK is a material featuring the wearing property of cotton, and the warmth of wool.
By absorbing moisture such as water vapor discharged from the human skin to generate heat,
THERMSTCK can keep the human body warm.
THERMSTCK has an excellent durability against washing and is safe for the human skin with non-formalin processed.

Feature:
1.Cellulose materials with higher hygroscopic and exothemic effects.
2.Excellent durability against washing.
3.Skin safety with non-formalin processed.

  • Moisture vaporizing from the skin surface is divided into sweat through the sweat gland and corium water discharging through the horny layer. Even without sweating, the corium water through the horny layer is always discharged.

  • Since wool has a property of generating heat when absorbing moisture, it has been always used as a wearing raw material for the winter season. However, it will cause sometime pricking and itching sensation. THERMSTCK is mild for the skin with a cellulose material and is highly recommended to persons having an allergy to wool.

Mechanism of "THERMSTCK"
1 . Principle of exothermic effect

The exothermic effect of THERMSTCK is based on the principle of heat of hydration (heat produced when steam connects to hydrophilic groups).
Though cellulose fiber has hydrophilic groups which connect to steam, the number of hydrophilic groups on cellulose fiber is less than that on wool, so the cellulose fiber has lower exothermic effect than wool.
Because "THERMSTCK" is made of cellulose reformed by chemically combining hydrophilic groups with a hygroscopic, exothermic effect to the surface of the cellulose, it features the high hygroscopic, exothermic effect and excellent durabiIity against washing.

2. Exothermic process

(1) Steam is combined with the hydrophilic groups.
Steam in the air or from a human body is combined with the hydrophilic groups of "THERMSTCK".

(2) Generation of heat of hydration
Because "THERMSTCK" has much more hydrophilic groups than, a huge amount of heat of hydration is generated.
